Visakhapatnam residents experienced mild earthquake tremors early on Sunday morning at around 5:07 AM, causing brief moments of concern in several parts of the city.
People living in Sagar Nagar, Tatichatlapalem, Seethammadhara, Madhavadhara, Peda Waltair, East Point Colony, and HB Colony, Madhurawada, Kommadi reported feeling light ground vibrations that lasted for a few seconds.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries, loss of life, or property damage following the tremors.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was located in the Bay of Bengal, approximately 225 kilometres from Kakinada.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Citizens are advised to remain calm and rely on official sources for verified information.
