Mythological Significance
According to legend, Lord Rama installed a Shiva Lingam here after returning from Lanka to atone for the sin of killing Ravana. It is believed that Lord Hanuman brought multiple Shiva Lingams from Varanasi, and those lingams are still seen on the hill.
